Christmas preschool lesson plansLetter From An Elf - Christmas cards are a great way for kids to express their creativity. They will be very proud of what they have created and very eager to send it to their parents.

Give each child two-pieces of construction paper, one green piece and one red piece. Have them fold one piece in half, and create a design out of the other piece. You can decide what design you would like them to work on. Once the cards have been finished and they have written a note inside, have the children send the cards to their address. This is exciting for them because they will wait for mom or dad to get their card in the mail. It also works on memorizing their address, which is important for them to know.

Handmade Towels - If possible have each child bring in a white hand towel. Or you can provide them, if the children cannot bring them in. You can find inexpensive white hand towels in department stores. Allow the children to dip their hands in red and green paint, and then press their hands onto the towels. Once they have dried you can help them wrap the present for them to give to their parents.

Handmade Wrapping Paper - You can make Christmas wrapping paper very easily as well. If the children have made presents for their parents, this is a great way to add a finishing touch to the gift. Give each kid a piece of wrapping paper that is white on the back. You can use paper bags for this as well, but they are harder to prepare. Let the children paint pictures on the white side with red and green paint. Allow them to color whatever they would like to. Once it has dried help them wrap their present to give to their parents.

Doggy Reindeer - Dog biscuit reindeer are very easy Christmas decorations for young children to make. You will need dog biscuits, wiggly eyes, red pom-poms, magnetic strips and a hot glue gun. Help the children glue the eyes, nose and magnetic strip to the dog biscuit. The end result will be a very cute magnet that can be displayed for many Christmases to come.

Handy Christmas Tree - Give each child three pieces of construction paper in different shades of green. Have them trace, and cut out their hand on each piece. When they have three hands prepared, glue them together. They will need to be stacked one on top of the other. Cut a small rectangle out of a piece of brown construction paper. This will serve as the tree trunk. The children will be amazed that they made a Christmas tree with their own hands!
